Ringless Fiction I (2013)
An actual silver ring is forged to a larger and larger circle. The amount of silver is still, while the length becomes longer and longer, the wire becomes thinner and thinner, until the ring becomes too large to see - disappearance. A stack of silver gelatin prints records the changes of this ring.
I am thinking about how to present the grand land by using something small, like a ring.
I take photos of a silver ring, which I bought in a mall.
Every time when I hammer it into a larger circle, I take a photo of it.
While the circumference becomes longer and longer, the wire becomes thinner and thinner, until the ring becomes too large to be seen.
Or, it is just too thin to be seen. But it still exists.
Change the focus of your eye, you see it.
Change the focus again, you lose it. The photographs enable the audiences to travel between focusing and
